This stirring devotional by F. LaGard Smith is fil This stirring devotional by F. LaGard Smith is filled with lovely illustrations by English artist Glenda Rae. It’s a beautiful volume that features the Cotswolds and reminds me of the restorative nature of the English countryside, which draws me ever nearer to the Good Shepherd. 🐑

When it comes to Lower Slaughter, you’ll definit When it comes to Lower Slaughter, you’ll definitely want to spend some time in this picturesque Cotswolds village. 🇬🇧

Best tip? Stay overnight at either the @the.slaughterscountryinn or @slaughtersmanor and get the village all to yourself after tourists leave or before they arrive. 😉

No matter where travels take me physically or wher No matter where travels take me physically or where my heart & mind take me internally, Christ is with me. No geographic locale is too distant, no valley of despair too dark. He is my comfort and stay, my guide and light. Wherever you are, He will be there with you, just cry out and His Spirit of comfort and truth will draw near.

Every year when I travel to the Cotswolds to lead Every year when I travel to the Cotswolds to lead my Women’s Walking Retreats, my kids number one request is for me to bring back products by @cotswoldlavender 💜

When cold & flu season hits we all benefit from the nourishing and soothing nature of their gorgeous products. 🛁

And while I don’t have a luxurious soaker tub or sumptuous hotel room to enjoy their products in once I’m back home, the tranquility of the Cotswolds touches our home in ways perhaps even more special and and sentimental. ☺️

This isn’t an ad, we all just truly love Cotswold Lavender and I’m so thankful we have the opportunity to enjoy their restorative products all fall & winter. 🍂

Check them out online, and be sure to add their stunning lavender farm to your Cotswolds bucket list! 🪻

📮England’s iconic red post boxes might not be 📮England’s iconic red post boxes might not be quite as famous as the classic red phone boxes, but they’re (in my humble opinion) much more interesting to spot. The reason for this is because whomever was monarch at the time, had their cipher or initials and regnal number integrated into the design. Some of these are quite rare.

Scroll to the last pic for one I spotted in Winchcombe for the first time this fall - it’s one of the oldest! 📮

Here are the ciphers in order from most recent to oldest:

👑 CRIII - Charles Rex III (Rex for king in Latin) the first installed in 2024.

👑 ERII - Elizabeth Regina II (Regina for queen in Latin). Installed between 1952-2022.

👑 GRVI- George Rex VI - rare to find as King George VI was king for only 16 years (between 1936-1952) and during the war years iron was needed for military uses.

👑 ERVIII - Edward Rex VIII - also rare to find as he abdicated the same year he inherited the crown. Installed in 1936.

👑 GR - George Rex (V) As there were no post boxes installed during the reigns of past kings named George, there was no need to include V on post boxes. Installed between 1910-1936.

👑 ERVII - Edward Rex VII - These post boxes were installed between 1901-1910.

👑 VR - Victoria Regina - The very first post boxes were installed in 1950 although she reigned from 1837-1901.

Definitely recommend stopping for a meal at The Swan at Swinbrook, (my third visit) which, on top of its excellent fare, features plenty of Mitford Sisters history and was featured in the filming of @downtonabbey_official !
