A Year of Going Grey // The first photo of me with A Year of Going Grey // The first photo of me with my camera in the Cotswolds marks one year from the last time I dyed my roots. The rest are in order from May 2024-May 2025. In August 2024 I made the conscious choice not to re-dye my roots and let myself go grey. Unfortunately I don’t have any good pics of me this summer with my hair down, (it’s often put up in the heat) but I’ll remedy that soon! Beauty & brokeness often pair together in unexpect Beauty & brokeness often pair together in unexpected ways. So much of this year, this summer, has revealed more of that to me. Perhaps getting older means becoming aware that living with great pain and great pleasure at the same time is part of the new norm. Amidst the heartache, I’ve had to intentionally seek out and proclaim the beauty. Not to pretend the difficult times didn’t exist, but in order to conquer the darkness, quell the anxiety, and let peace prevail. I want to model this for my kids. Teach them to choose light over darkness, claim peace instead of anxiety, find beauty in the broken. I wrote about our summer plans gone awry, but finding beauty and making memories anyway, in a new blog post.
